Organic soap made from coconut oil, lye, water, and essential oils provides a natural, chemical-free alternative to commercial bars by leveraging the unique properties of its ingredients. Coconut oil is the primary active ingredient, delivering a rich, creamy lather due to its high lauric acid content, which effectively cleanses without the harsh synthetic surfactants found in mass-market soaps.

The benefits of this specific formulation include:

  • Deep Moisturization: The soap retains glycerin (a natural byproduct of the saponification process between lye and coconut oil) and utilizes the oil’s emollient properties to hydrate the skin, preventing the tight, dry feeling associated with conventional detergents.

  • Antibacterial and Healing Properties: Lauric acid and caprylic acid in coconut oil offer natural antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral qualities, helping to reduce surface bacteria, soothe inflammation, and support skin conditions like acne, eczema, and psoriasis.

  • Gentle and Safe: Free from synthetic fragrances, parabens, and dyes, this organic soap is gentle on sensitive skin, reducing the risk of irritation, redness, or allergic reactions while maintaining the skin’s natural moisture barrier.

  • Aromatherapeutic Effects: The inclusion of essential oils provides natural fragrance and additional therapeutic benefits, such as calming, energizing, or further antimicrobial action, without the use of synthetic perfumes.

  • Long-Lasting and Stable: Coconut oil creates a hard, durable bar that resists rapid dissolution in water and has a long shelf life due to its high saturated fat content, which is resistant to oxidation and rancidity.

This soap is dedicated to the banned book of The Origin of the World, known for being the strangest text in the Nag Hammadi library. It has no title — scholars named it for its subject. Found in Codex II (tractate 5) and a fragment in Codex XIII, it's a single, unbroken cosmological treatise written around 270–350 CE, likely in Alexandria. It blends Jewish, Manichaean, Christian, Greek, and Egyptian ideas into a creation story that reads like nothing else in the ancient world.

The opening is a declaration of war:

"Seeing that everybody, gods of the world and mankind, says that nothing existed prior to chaos, I, in distinction to them, shall demonstrate that they are all mistaken, because they are not acquainted with the origin of chaos, nor with its root."

The text begins by announcing that everyone is wrong — every god, every human, every tradition — about where the world came from. The author is about to tell the real story.
